Water & Spices Overview

With water as our first ingredient, it's important that it's the best so we use a 3-stage system with 6 layers of filtration down to .5 microns effectively removing over 99% of contaminants.

While our spice blend is proprietary, we use the finest spices to deliver the best flavor.

Monosodium Salt aka Monosodium Glutamate or MSG

Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is a flavor enhancer commonly used in various foods. It has been the subject of much debate, but there are several potential benefits associated with its use:

2. Reduces Sodium Intake

  • Lower Sodium Content: Using MSG can help reduce the overall sodium content in foods. MSG contains about one-third of the sodium of table salt (sodium chloride), and adding it to foods can enhance flavor while allowing for less salt to be used, which is beneficial for those monitoring their sodium intake.

3. Improves Appetite and Satisfaction

  • Increased Palatability: Foods containing MSG are often perceived as more delicious, which can improve appetite, especially in populations such as the elderly, who might have diminished taste sensitivity or reduced appetite.

4. Safe for Consumption

  • Scientific Consensus: Numerous studies and regulatory agencies, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the World Health Organization (WHO), have found MSG to be safe for consumption. Despite some claims of "Chinese Restaurant Syndrome," controlled studies have not consistently shown MSG to cause adverse reactions in the general population.

  • Aiding Digestion: Some research suggests that MSG may enhance the digestion of protein-rich foods by stimulating the secretion of digestive juices, potentially aiding in better nutrient absorption.

  • Satiety: There is some evidence that MSG might help with weight management by increasing the sensation of fullness (satiety) after eating, which could lead to reduced calorie intake.

While MSG has been demonized in some media, most scientific research supports its safety and potential benefits when used appropriately. The key is moderation, as with any food additive.
